HBSCA is entirely run by volunteers. HBSCA activity is conducted, managed and controlled by a board of directors, which elects president and chairs of committees.

The board of directors meets regularly to plan and review the activities of the association. Each board member contributes towards the objectives of HBSCA by providing general input as well specialized advice and action within his or her area of expertise. The board is organized and structured to address the needs of the organization.

HBSCA is an organization exempt under 501 (c) (3) code of IRS. An effective date of exemption is June 20, 2008.
